Microsoft will report its fiscal fourth quarter results after the markets shut on Tuesday.
Here’s what analysts are looking for:
income: According to Refinitiv, $2.29 per share adjusted as analysts expected.
income: $52.44 billion, as expected by using analysts, according to Refinitiv.
During the quarter, Microsoft lowered its quarterly income and earnings guidance due to modifications in foreign exchange rates. CEO Satya Nadella stated employees would get a pay raise, and the company delivered services to help customers deal with security incidents.
However, when management decreased its earnings expectations, it did not take into account different issues that could have harm results.
Technology industry researcher Gartner said before this month that logistics disruptions in the quarter led to lower shipments of PCs, which are a key driver for selling Windows working system licenses to device makers. In addition, macroeconomic issues that are hurting the growth of ad income for social networks Snap and Twitter could weigh on Microsoft. In 2021, the company acquired 10 billion dollars from advertising, excluding the fee of acquiring traffic.
Microsoft shares have sold off 25% this year, in contrast with a 17% decline in the US S&P 500 stock index.
Executives will talk about the results with analysts and issue coaching during a webcast beginning at 5:30 p.m. ET.
